Food Specialist

Job Purpose Provide quality assurance and inspec ons of all Company controlled food service facili es to ensure that food is safe at the me of consump on.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s) Challenge is to inspect mul ple work loca ons and events including facilites located at Offshore Client Plant, Al Khor community, Doha. Complexity of analysing processes for Biological, Chemical, and Physical hazards with a thorough understanding of the science behind each type of hazard.

Key Job Accountabilities - I Conduct hazard analysis, iden fying and evalua ng each type of hazard. Determines cri cal control points (CCP's) and establishes systems to monitor these to ensure that they are under control in such a manner that the food does not directly or indirectly, harm the consumer. Perform audits on catering facili es to ensure food safety and hygiene and ensure ongoing compliance to food safety standards and regula ons in food Industry. Iden fy areas of opportuni es for improvement and provides recommenda ons to management for decisions. Keeps management informed on actual or poten al risks and advices on correc ve ac ons to be taken. Establish standard opera ons procedures and documenta ons to facilitate an auditable system in compliance with Na onal Health Authority food regula on and code of prac ces. Correc ve ac on should be taken if CCP's found to be not under control.

Key Job Accountabilities - II Develop a food safety strategy to prevent food poisoning through biological, chemical and physical agents. Establish processes to maintain all food items are stored, prepared, thawed and cooked at the correct temperatures and condi ons. Establishes good stock inventory to maintain stock rota on, FIFO (first -in, first- out) with proper labelling, traceability and enabled quick recall. Ensure preven ve maintenance and calibra ons of equipment are carried out and coordinate a variety of services such as waste removal and pest control. Ensure Emergency Response Preparedness to stop food chain and traceability of products in case of an incident. Conducts supplier audits and monitors compliance with health and fire regula ons regarding food prepara on and serving. In the event of a possible food contamina on/poisoning, conducts a thorough inves ga on with the catering department and the contractor to find out the root cause and ensures correc ve/preven ve ac ons are taken. Communicate informa on concerning development, implementa on and upda ng of food safety throughout the organiza on to ensure the food safety required by Interna onal Standards. Provides informa on to consumers in rela on to product informa on when necessary and consumer feedback including consumer complaints. Prepare training material and organizes training programs for food safety and hygiene purposes.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree of Science in Food Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology or Microbiology.

Knowledge and/or Experience 8 years' of experience in implemen ng quality assurance and/or food safety programs in food opera ons/services within industrial organisa ons.

Technical and Business Skills Knowledge of laws and regula ons related to food storage, prepara on and services. Proficient wri en and spoken English. Computer Literacy (MS Office).
